Kannauj - The Perfume City of India

The Kannauj is the magical city known profoundly for the organic extensive perfume production. The city is situated in the vivid Uttar Pradesh state of the India. The Kannauj city was once the capital under the rule of King Harsh Vardhan. The city has a fine blend of history and artistic values. The Kannauj is also a sacred city for Hindus as the holy river Ganga flows from the heart of the Kannauj, hence the city is of great importance from the very beginning. Traditional organic perfumes are manufactured under the very vicinity of the Kannauj city, 

The world famous Kannauj Ittar is manufactured here, the production is absolutely covered under the Intellectual property rights (TRIPS) and the Ittar is registered as 157 item number in the Union Government’s registration database. The city has a rich history of perfume manufacture and trade, it is believed that in ancient times most of the perfume export in the world was done from Kannauj only. The city is accredited as the perfume capital of India. Interestingly over 80 percent of the population is a part of the grand scale Kannauj Ittar production, records go as far as 5000 years back.
