Bullet Baba’s Temple in Jodhpur, also known as the Om Banna or Bullet Banna, is located in the district of Pali near Jodhpur near the Chotila village. The temple is devoted to a deity which is in the form of a motorcycle; 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet. The temple is situated at the distance of 20 km from Pali and 50 km from Jodhpur.
The reason behind people worshipping this motorcycle is a true story and people have a true belief in it. On December 2, 1998, Om Banna met with an accident and his motorcycle got stuck against the tree. When the police brought the vehicle at the police station, they observed that the next day the vehicle itself went at the accident site. This happened continuously for many days, and hence people over there considered this as a miracle. Thus, they worship this ‘bullet’ till date.
All the nearby villagers bow in front of the bullet whenever they cross from there. Many people offer alcohol and other such things and also apply tilak to the bullet.
Not worshipping the vehicle is considered to be a sign of being unlucky while travelling. Therefore, nobody amongst the locals forgets to visit the temple.
Many songs are being sung in the memory of Om Banna by the local folks. Incense sticks, coconuts, red threads and many other things are being put by the people in front of the deity.
