Life has a lot of bad twists and turns, and one such twist had left Mr. Abhishek Thaware differently abled by taking away his right hand by affecting it from polio. But Abhishek did not let this affect his entire life and gave this accident a positive turn and became the first teeth archer of India.
In the year 2015, During the month of July the Para Archery championship was conducted by the Archery Association of India where Abhishek Sunil Thaware greatly excelled and soon after that at the all-India Archery meet for the disabled in Baroda in the month of August 2015 he won a silver medal. Since then he has been greatly achieving at so many Archery competitions. At the Inter-University meet in Patiala he bagged the 69th spot among 200 participants.
All of these great achievements are not what makes him so famous, what makes him so extra-ordinary is his talent. Even though life played a bad game he proved that true talent can not be taken away. He does not do archery simply he plays the game by using his teeth and this is what has made him so incredibly talented and famous. Abhishek comes from a not so privileged family background and archery being an expensive sport his parents could not afford the diet, the training and the equipment. But in the year 2014, his mother mortgaged her jewellery and bought him a second-hand archery set.
Today he is 25, and very thankful that polio is no longer an issue in the country. And he very enthusiastically says that he aspires to represent his nation in the field of Archery at an International level.
